New Chair Appointed at Guernsey Chest and Heart LBG

Guernsey Chest and Heart LBG has announced the appointment of a new chairwoman following the retirement of Dr Stephen Brennan Roper, who stepped down after more than 30 years of dedicated service.

Sally-Ann David has taken up the role, bringing two decades of experience on the charity’s board. Her appointment was confirmed during the organisation’s recent annual general meeting, where Dr Roper was presented with gifts from the board in recognition of his long-standing contribution. He assured members that he would remain available to offer advice and support in the future.

“It’s an absolute honour to succeed Dr Roper,” said Mrs David. “He has given so much to both the charity and the wider community over the years.”

Looking ahead, she added: “As Guernsey’s population ages and the pressures of modern life continue to grow, the need for our services is sadly more important than ever. I’m incredibly grateful to be working alongside such a committed team of healthcare professionals and a supportive board, all of whom are focused on driving the charity forward.”

Reflecting on his time at the helm, Dr Roper said: “It has been a privilege to serve as Chair and Medical Director for much of the charity’s history. I’m deeply thankful for the unwavering support of my fellow board members, which has helped establish Chest and Heart as one of Guernsey’s leading charitable organisations.”
